Welcome to the Jim Houck Memorial Events website!

We are proud to announce our partnership with the American Cancer Society, and Fix JB Sports, these two wonderful organizations benefit the community and so many great ways!

The Jim Houck Memorial Events were created in conjunction with the Relay for Life of Mercersburg. The money raised from these events as well as from the Relay for Life go to benefit the American Cancer Society and Fix JB Sports. We are dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering through cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. 


The Relay for Life of Mercersburg is an event run by students of the James Buchanan High School, and is under the direction of the Leadership Team, who help to direct the committee, as well as run the Jim Houck Memorial Events. We are very grateful of Jim's family and friends who support these events, and who care so passionately about eliminating cancer in our community!


For those who did not know Jim, he was a great inspiration to all in the community. He was a beloved family man, who served our area in many ways. He was an educator with the Tuscarora School District for 25 years, in which time he was a great inspiration to many. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, and bicycling.
